HAND THERAPY

Assessment and treatment of hand, elbow, and shoulder conditions. With specialized knowledge in the upper extremity, the client is assessed and a treatment plan is formulated to provide interventions to prevent potential dysfunction, restore previous functionality, and/or reverse the progression of the injury. The goal of treatment is to enhance the ability of the patient to complete tasks and participate fully in activities of daily living. 

Clients are assessed and provided a treatment plan including a home exercise program. Common conditions seen are carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, lateral epicondylitis, trigger finger, ulnar collateral ligament tears, TFCC tears/wrist sprains, and osteoarthritis in the hands.

  • Assessments can be virtual or in person. 

  • Exercises prescribed will come with a video for reference. 

  • Rehabilitation of acute and chronic injuries including a home strengthening protocol as well as taping and bracing to prevent further damage to affected tissues. 

  • A full report can be created for the client for submission to WSIB, Insurance companies, and long-term disability.
